  • 3 cups whipping cream
  • 1 tsp kewra extract
  • One teaspoon (8g) of baking powder
  • 1.5 boxes of ras malai
  • Two drops of yellow food color
  • 1 tsp cardamom powder
  • Two saffron strands

How To make

Step 1: Mix yogurt and oil. Add sugar and mix well. Add the milk. Beat well for about 8-10 minutes.

Step 2: Spread the batter onto a greased baking pan of 25x25cm (10×10 inches).

Step 3: Mix baking soda with 1/4 cup of water in a small bowl. Now place the batter into it. Mix well.

Step 4: Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C (350 F). Bake for about 15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes clean.

Step 5: Mix cream, cardamom powder, and saffron in a bowl. Divide the mixture into two portions. In one part, add food color and mix well.

Step 6: When the cake is baked. Remove from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, and cut it into two halves by evenly cutting from the center line through to 2 sides.

Step 7: Place the bottom cake on a plate. Pour the cream mixture on top of it.

Step 8: Now place the top half on top of it. Pour the remaining cream mixture into it.

Step 9: Mix the icing sugar with water and sprinkle over the cake. This will make it look like a ras malai. You can also garnish with chopped pistachio nuts if desired.
