Raspberry Sauce:

  • 2 Cup Fresh Raspberries
  • 1 Cup Water
  • 1 Tablespoon Sugar

Making Method

For Coating:

Step 1: Cream the butter, sugar, and vanilla in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy. 

Step 2: In another bowl, sift in the flour, salt and baking powder. 

Step 3: Add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture in two parts.  Blend well so that there are no lumps of flour.

Step 3: Add the eggs one at a time, blending in each before adding the next.  Mix well after each addition.

Step 4: Add in the vanilla and mix well. 

Step 5: In another bowl, combine the flour, milk, and salt.  Mix until just combined.

Step 6: Add the flour mixture and milk mixture at the same time to the butter mixture in two parts.  Mix well with a spatula after each half is added.

Step 7: Spread out in greased pans and bake for 1 hour at 350°F or until a toothpick inserted in cake comes out clean.

For Raspberry Sauce:

Step 1: Add the water and sugar to a sauce pan and bring to a boil. 

Step 2: Add the raspberries and cook for 10 min. 

Step 3: Mash the raspberries with a fork, strain the juice into a bowl, and discard the seeds. 

To Top:  Once cooled and set, take out of pans and place on cake plate. Place your fresh raspberries on top along with some Vanilla Ice Cream.
